Nutritional IV’s use vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are administered directly into the vein. The IV use of nutrients bypasses the gastrointestinal tract (GI) to avoid GI side effects and gain quick absorption. The more direct, higher concentrations possible via IV infusion makes them therapeutically useful in ways not achievable through oral intake.

Conditions

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Cold & Flu, Headache, Muscle Spasms, Infectious & Viral Diseases, Lyme Disease, Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases, Neurological Disease, Migraine

Vitamin & Mineral

Nutrient deficient diet, malabsorption issues, diarrhea and fluid loss, nutrient replacement; boosts the immune system. Treatment combines a broad mixture of vitamins and minerals in fluid including Vitamins B and C along with minerals such as potassium and zinc

Relox

This is a supercharged Myers cocktail. The formula has been modified to allow faster infusion and higher nutrient concentrations. It is given with nearly 100% oxygen by mask and at a specific rate that enhances the effects. Dr Rind developed and patented this technique, has used it for nearly three decades without any problems and often results show extraordinary benefits.

Best uses: Accelerated healing and repair following

Stroke: Recent or years after the stroke. Most of the time, results are seen immediately after treatment (see video in Brain injury/stroke section)

Brain injury: Whether mild (mild concussion or whiplash) or severe (TBI). Typically given in conjunction with cranial osteopathic treatment (by Dr Rind) to assure that the cranial mechanism is functioning well to allow optimal results.

After trauma (e.g., car accident) or following surgery to accelerate healing and help reduce post injury or post-surgical discomfort or pain. In Dr Rind’s experience, recovery time and pain are significantly reduced.

Amino Acids

Specialty lab testing may indicate the need to provide essential amino acids for the body to support brain and organ functions.

Myers Cocktail

An infusion of B vitamins, vitamin C and some minerals (formula can change depending on doctor’s orders). Asthma, migraines, fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory infection, sinusitis, adrenal support; typically produces immediate relaxation and release of anxiety. Safely used for about 4 decades in the US to boost immunity, energy and accelerate recoveries.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, immune supported and promotes healing. In case of illness when a high dose is needed, the IV route is ideal. Adjunctive support for cancer;  toxicity, mononucleosis and other chronic viruses, fatigue and weakness; immune system problems.

Magnesium & B Vitamin

Fatigue, fibromyalgia, migraine, muscle spasm, addiction, PMS. Patients with these conditions and symptoms are often depleted in these vitamins.

Glutathione

Glutathione plays a key role in detoxification in the body and for and effective immune response. Plays a critical role in the development of an effective immune response when there is a need for higher concentrations of antioxidants

Therapeutic IVs

Certain medical conditions, lab work results and patient needs may benefit from practitioners ordering IVs designed to help fight infections, remove toxins or boost the immune system.

Antibiotics

IV administration of antibiotics is available as needed for the clinical condition of the patient.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Typical duration is under an hour. As with all IV therapies, there is a risk of bruising, pain or swelling at the injection site.

What is Intravenous (IV) Therapy?

Intravenous (IV) Therapy is the introduction of nutrients and medicines into the body through a vein. IVs can be used in different ways to supply necessary minerals, medicines and nutrients to the body. Delivering this treatment through a vein allows your body to receive the benefits without stressing the stomach and intestines and has rapid delivery to the body.

Why is IV Therapy used?

  • Boost the immune system function to fight infection.

  • Support detoxification pathways.

  • Help with acute and chronic stress.

  • Increase energy and reduce fatigue.

  • Rehydrate when dehydrated.

  • Help with recuperation.

  • Support acceleration of healing.

What conditions may benefit from IV Therapy?

  • Allergies

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Asthma

  • Cancer

  • Colds and flu

  • Headaches

  • Infections

  • Muscle spasms

  • Body injuries

  • Head injuries

What type of IVs are available?

  • Vitamins & Minerals: Immune support, support healing, support energy.

  • Vitamin C: Detox, Immune support.

  • Myers Cocktail: Support healing and rapid recovery.

  • Glutathione: Key ingredient with detoxification

  • Relox: Specialized IV for brain related injuries. Useful for stroke, concussion, and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

Are these treatments safe? Are there side effects?

Practitioners have been using many of these treatments for many years; your safety is an priority and every effort will be made to ensure your safety. Like any treatment, nutritional and other therapeutic IV's carry some risk.*  Your physician will help you consider the risks and benefits of therapy. It is important to inform your physician of any possible allergies you may have prior to your treatment. Being well hydrated and having a stable glucose level will definitely make the treatment more comfortable. Side effects remain infrequent. All patients are continuously monitored by the Lab staff while getting treatments to provide a safe and comfortable experience.

Nutritional and some of the other therapeutic IVs listed here are not widely practiced as part of conventional medicine, but have become a fairly widespread practice among physicians who practice integrative medicine.  Integrative physicians, who incorporate functional, complementary or alternative medical (CAM) approaches into practice, have found that many patients respond well to these IVs. This view is supported by a substantial body of clinical literature and many of these therapies are routinely taught in continuing medical education courses for integrative physicians. The body of evidence for some of these therapies, however, may not be considered sufficiently rigorous by mainstream medical institutions to support the widespread adoption of these practices.
